Soushenji: Chinese mythology characters
This is a series of character illustrations based on Gan Bao’s Soushen Ji (搜神記), a 4th century Classical Chinese compilation of legends and short stories about the supernatural. Each of these characters is some sort of supernatural being: the Lord of the South Sea, a mysterious immortal old lady, a tree spirit, a malicious spirit in the form of a nasty old man discovered in a cooking pot and a shape-shifting otter spirit.
